“I am_ I am not_” is an insight of self perception and affirmation culture, blending graphic and product design. Based on the Instagram page @afffirmations, the designs depict the everyday “affirmations” and inspirational beliefs used to improve self image, but depicting more real and relatable topics such as mental health, addiction, self esteem, and money issues.

Rooted in the current trend of affirmations and whether or not they border on delusion, the project challenges the concept in a sardonic manner, through clever use of humour and strong visual design, taking diverse forms ranging from t-shirts, phone cases, stickers, and more. This was made as a 3rd year uni project, responding to a brief set by design agency paq with the idea of telling a story that "causes a scene", blending two or more design disciplines.
